The veteran post player made program history during each of her two starts last week, accounting for 22.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per victory. In Saturday’s narrow road win over St. Francis Brooklyn, Haines became the first-ever Pioneer to record a triple-double. The 6-foot-2 forward is responsible for the 11th triple-double in NEC history, but it is only the second to include double-digit blocks. Two days later, she eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in a home win over Wagner. Needing 16 points to become the 20th 1,000-point scorer in SHU annals, Haines tallied 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting during a MLK Day matinee. Over the two-game span, she shot a team-leading 55.9 percent from the floor. Haines is averaging 20.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game during Sacred Heart’s 6-0 start to the NEC season.
