Kovatch looked everything like the NEC's all-time leading scorer last week. Producing the highest two-game point total the NEC has seen thus far this season, the senior guard piled up 54 points in 79 minutes of action as the Red Flash split a pair of non-conference contests. Kovatch, who shot 43.8 percent from the floor, averaged 27.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per outing. She did plenty of damage from downtown and at the charity stripe during an 89-83 victory over Morehead State. The Garden State product accounted for a 4-for-6 clip from three-point range and enjoyed a 92.3 percent success rate during her frequent visits to the free-throw line. Kovatch made an impact down the stretch, scoring 10 points and dishing out two assists to power SFU's 29-point fourth-quarter showing. She hit three free throws over the final 00:30 to ice the win. Next time out, Kovatch accounted for 26 points in an overtime road loss to ACC member Pittsburgh. She led all scorers with 12 first-half points, helping the Flash build a 35-23 lead before the break. Kovatch, who dished out three dimes during the fourth quarter, opened the overtime session by drilling a triple that gave the Flash a 72-69 edge.
