Pocesta added more than 1.0 meter to his league-leading weight throw mark. The fourth-year Seahawk sent the 35-pound implement 17.58m (57’ 8.25”) to win gold at the Penn 8-Team Select in Staten Island. The New York City product eclipsed the automatic qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships and ranks 23rd overall on the list of qualifiers for the long-running regional meet. Pocesta has built a 1.15-meter cushion between himself and his closest competition on the Northeast Conference leader board.
