Belle broke the Blackbirds’ program shot put record on his third throw of the season. On his way to striking gold at Ocean Breeze’s Fastrack Metro Season Opener, the senior put the shot 15.98m (52’ 5.25”) and also became the NEC’s event leader in the process. Belle, who settled for silver at the 2018 NEC Indoor Championships last February, currently ranks 14th overall on the early-season list of IC4A Championship qualifiers.
