WEEK 8 STATS: 256 scrimmage yards, 28 rushes, 165 rush yards, 1 TD rush, 3 receptions, 91 receiving yards, 1 TD reception
Taking on Keystone Stat rival Saint Francis, Hines piled up more than 200 yards from scrimmage for the second week in a row. Accounting for the NEC’s highest single-game scrimmage yards total against a Division I opponent this season, the junior running back rushed 28 times for 165 yards and gained 91 yards on three receptions. He scored two second-half touchdowns (one rushing, one receiving) in the come-from-behind 27-20 road win. Hines needed only two carries to gain the final 44 yards on the Dukes’ game-winning drive. After a seven-yard rush on a 1st-and-10 play from the SFU 44, Hines busted through the Red Flash defense, breaking tackles along the way, for a 37-yard tie-breaking touchdown. Hines first trip into the end zone opened the second-half scoring. With the Dukes facing a 13-6 deficit, Hines converted a 3rd-and-9 situation by taking a screen pass 26 yards to pay dirt with 4:40 left in the third quarter. Earlier on the drive, he broke off a 21-yard run on a 2nd-and-7 play. Hines’ longest play of the day came on a screen pass that went for 58 yards and set up a late first-half field goal.
