A two-time NEC Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week winner, Rodriguez recorded a 2018 NEC match-high with 40 digs in a five-set win over Saint Francis U on Saturday. The 40 digs are the fifth-highest mark in the nation this season, the most by a freshman performer and the highest total by a Terrier since 2010 when career leader Liliana Rodriguez also tallied 40 in a non-league matchup. In Friday night's five-setter with Robert Morris, Rodriguez added another 22 digs to give her six matches with at least 20 or more digs this season. She averaged a robust 6.2 digs per set in the pair of wins that improved SFBK to 5-6 in conference play. The freshman from Las Vegas ranks third in the league in digs per set in both conference games (5.0 per set) and overall (4.40).  Rodriguez is the first NEC volleyball player to win both Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week awards since Oct. 7, 2013, and also the first freshman to win multiple defensive honors in a season since 2013.
