Thorstein ends the regular season of cross country winning four of the seven Rookie of the Week awards after running victoriously at Monmouth's Tune Up race last Saturday. The freshman harrier from Iceland stormed through the 5k course held at Buck Mill Park in 15:27.56 to defeat a field of 50 runners for his first win of the season. Thorstein joined teammate Jonathan Besselink - who crossed the finish line in 15:27.81 for the silver - to lead Wagner to a team victory over Monmouth, Saint Peter's and NEC rival Fairleigh Dickinson. He now turns to the NEC Championships being held on Saturday in Smithfield, RI where he will look to build on three consecutive top-5 finishes.
