Rinella continued to show off his return skills in the Red Flash's NEC opener at Wagner. The nation's second-leading punt returner totaled 153 return yards (43 PR, 110 KOR) in the 23-22 setback. Rinella's most-impactful return came with SFU facing a 16-14 fourth-quarter deficit. The Keystone State product fielded a punt at his own 15-yard and jaunted 40 yards into Wagner territory to set up the go-ahead touchdown drive. He also provided the Red Flash with a pair of solid drive starting positions on kickoff returns. His longest kickoff return went for 39 yards, giving the Flash a 1st-and-10 at the 43-yard line with 00:28 left in the third quarter. Late in the first half, Rinella fielded a kick at his own 20 and raced 28 yards up to the SFU 48-yard line.
