Jackson’s second NEC appearance resulted in a second consecutive 100-yard rushing output. Powering the Colonials to their highest single-game yardage total in more than 12 years, the rookie running back carried 16 times for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson scored from 13 yards out, tying the score at 14-14 with 4:37 left in the first quarter. The redshirt freshman kick-started RMU’s next drive, which ended on a 16-yard scoring reception by Matthew Gonzalez, by rushing 24 yards into CCSU territory on first down. Jackson found the end zone for a second time on the Colonials’ first possession of the second half, taking a 2nd-and-2 handoff and bursting up the middle for a 35-yard touchdown run that pulled RMU to within seven points. With Robert Morris backed up at its own 4-yard line on the first possession of the fourth quarter, Jackson totaled 30 yards on three consecutive carries to give the offense a 1st-and-10 at the 34.
