Gill was in the grille of Monmouth quarterback Kenji Bahar on a number of occasions during the shootout at the Jersey Shore. The veteran linebacker logged 2.5 sacks and was responsible for a quarterback hurry that forced a first-quarter interception. He finished with four total tackles and was also credited with a pass break-up. With Monmouth holding a 2-0 lead and facing a 2nd-and-10 from its own 40, Gill pressured Bahar into a hurried throw that Daryl Gamble intercepted. Gill registered his first sack of the day early in the second quarter, dropping the passer for a six-yard loss on 1st-and-10. His second sack came on a 3nd-and-9 play, resulting in a six-yard loss while forcing Monmouth into a three-and-out. Gill registered a half-sack on Monmouth's first possession of the second half, helping to hold the Hawks to a field goal attempt. With Wagner leading, 47-40, early in the fourth quarter, Gill broke up a pass that was intended for Monmouth receiver Reggie White, Jr.
