Jackson became the Colonials’ first 100-yard rusher since 2015, carrying the ball 27 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns during the NEC opener. The redshirt freshman running back added 27 yards on two receptions, totaling 136 yards from scrimmage in the 49-46 setback at Bryant. Jackson broke free for a 20-yard gain into the red zone on his third carry of the second quarter, setting the stage for the RMU’s first points of the game (a 25-yard FG). Later in the quarter, Jackson plowed into the end zone from the 1-yard line for the team’s first touchdown of the day after accounting for 33 yards (26 rush, 7 receive) on the drive. Helping Robert Morris reach its highest single-game point total since the 2013 season, his two-yard scoring run cut Bryant’s lead to 42-31 with 6:11 left in the third quarter. Jackson aided the third-quarter touchdown drive with a 20-yard reception on a 2nd-and-7 play.
