NEC Player of the Month
Kuhar, the two-time reigning NEC Player of the Year, netted the ninth NEC Player of the Month/Week award of his career following a terrific showing at the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, CA. Kuhar, who ended last season ranked 121st nationally, knocked off #30 August Holmgren of San Diego, 6-2, 6-1, and #96 Zeke Clark of Illinois, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, to advance to the quarterfinals, where he fell to USC’s Laurens Verboven, 6-3, 6-3. Verboven is ranked 81st in the country. The Smithfield, RI native went on to post a 2-1 record at the Brown Invitational this past weekend. He picked up singles wins over Marist’s Lars Schouten (6-1, 7-6 (4)) and Villanova’s Tyler Roth (4-6, 6-2, 11-9).
