Suydam, a second team All-NEC and All-Rookie selection a season ago, earned her first career NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor after the Red Flash shutout LIU Brooklyn, 1-0, in overtime in their first conference tilt of the season on Saturday. The Lancaster, PA native logged all 93 minutes of the contest while playing all four spots of the SFU backline that held the Blackbirds to seven shots on goal. Suydam leads all SFU position players in total minutes played this season.
