Bryant’s first-ever night game at Beirne Stadium was a memorable one for McNeal. The redshirt freshman receiver piled up 106 all-purpose yards and scored his first collegiate touchdown in a victory over PFL member Marist. McNeal made four receptions for 81 yards to go along with a five-yard rush and a 20-yard punt return. He also recorded a tackle on special teams. With Bryant clinging to a 30-20 lead midway through the fourth quarter, McNeal pulled in a pass from Price Wilson and raced 62 yards for an insurance touchdown. He helped set up Bryant’s first scoring drive of the game, returning a first-quarter punt 20 yards to Bryant’s 35-yard line. His first catch of the game aided Bryant’s second touchdown drive as it went for 11 yards and a first down in the latter stages of the first quarter.
