WEEK 3 STATS: 11 receptions, 223 receiving yards, 2 TD receptions, 3 rush yards
Crawford had his way with Dayton’s defense in Duquesne’s 31-26 triumph on Rooney Field. In addition to scoring a pair of touchdowns, the Preseason All-American recorded career highs in receptions (11) and receiving yards (223). On the way to compiling the fourth-highest single game receiving total in the FCS this season, the senior made a 47-yard reception on the first snap of the day. Crawford made four catches for 36 yards on the Dukes’ second possession of the day, capping the drive with a 12-yard touchdown grab. He reached the end zone again in the early stages of the second quarter, pulling in a pass from Daniel Parr while streaking down the far sideline for an 80-yard scoring play. Continuing his rampage, Crawford helped the Dukes take a 31-13 lead on their first possession of the second half. He caught four balls for 57 yards on an 11-play touchdown drive that began at Duquesne’s 6-yard line. Crawford, who led the FCS in receiving touchdowns (15) during the 2017 regular season, currently sits tied for third place amongst national leaders with five TD catches.
