WEEK 1 STATS: 271 rush yards, 20 carries, 3 rush TD

Fulse flew to the top of the NCAA FCS rushing leader board in Week 1. Opening his senior season against Bowie State, the preseason all-NEC running back erupted for 271 yards and three touchdowns on 20 rush attempts. He also made two receptions in Wagner’s 40-23 triumph. Fulse, who finished fourth amongst national FCS rushing leaders in 2017, netted -2 yards on his first three carries of the season before exploding. Taking his fourth handoff of the first quarter, he scampered 47 yards to give the Seahawks a 1st-and-Goal opportunity from Bowie State’s 5-yard line. Fulse found the end zone for the first time, capping the Seahawks’ first possession of the second quarter with a four-yard touchdown run. He found paydirt again on Wagner’s very next possession, bursting free for a 77-yard scoring scamper on a 2nd-and-2 play. Fulse struck again with Wagner nursing a 31-23 lead early in the fourth quarter. Answering a field goal by Bowie, Fulse went 86 yards in only two plays. After starting the drive by making a nine-yard reception, the Empire State product notched his second 77-yard touchdown run of the game.
