Barnes continues to lead the Northeast Conference in the 100m and 200m dashes and has won three of the season’s first four NEC Rookie of the Week awards. The first-year Mountaineer accounted for two top-eight finishes at the George Mason Springtime Invitational. She was the sixth-fastest finisher in the 100m dash, crossing the line in 11.95. In the 200m dash, Barnes posted the fourth-fastest time (24.12) amongst collegiate entrants. Both times are well under the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships in May.
