Simpson threw her way to a silver medal during the discus competition at the 2017 NEC Outdoor Championships and the FDU veteran has shown the potential to upgrade that hardware to gold later this spring. Competing at the New York Metropolitan Championships, Simpson flung the discus 46.08m (151’ 2”) to finish in first place and reaffirm her standing atop the NEC leader board. Simpson, who beat out Mets runner-up Jennifer Odoemene (St. John’s) by 2.49m, moved up to the No. 17 spot on the list of ECAC Championships qualifiers.
