Connelly’s performance at Princeton’s Larry Ellis Invitational allowed the senior to retain her conference lead in the 3,000m steeple chase. Contesting a race steeplechase race that featured the top-three returning finishers from last spring’s NEC Championship, Connelly crossed the line in 10:50.57 to set a personal record. The two-time defending NEC steeple champion defeated CCSU’s Madeline Mondo (10:53.77) and SHU teammate Lindsay Lucas (10:55.65), both of whom recorded personal bests of their own. As a result of her latest performance, Connelly has moved into the Top 85 on the NCAA East Region leader board.
