Smith, a freshman, won all three of her match-play tilts last weekend to help host FDU win its own Checkmate Challenge. Smith earned an 8 & 6 victory in the Knights opening round win over Siena, then followed that up with a 2-up win to help her team cruise to a 5-0 win against Lehigh in the second round. The English native finished strong in the championship round with a 1-up win to lead the Knights past Navy, 3-2, and claimed the team title.
