WEEK 5 STATS: 4 starts, .444 BA (8-for-18), 4 2B, 3B, 9 RBI, 5 runs
Godino recorded at least one hit, one run and one RBI in every game during Wagner’s 4-0 week. Reaching base at a .524 clip, the senior outfielder totaled eight hits and nine RBI over a four-game span that featured three wins over Atlantic 10 members and one victory over a Big East foe. Godino, who reached base safely at least twice in each game, batted .444 (8-for-18) with five extra-base hits, two HBP, one walk and five runs scored during the four-win week. He sparked a rally during Wagner’s mid-week come-from-behind triumph over Fordham. With the Seahawks facing a 6-1 deficit, Godino belted a two-run double that kick-started a six-run sixth inning in the eventual 10-7 win. In Friday’s 11-1 runaway win over Saint Joseph’s, he earned his way on base four times and connected on a pair of RBI two-baggers. Godino crushed two more extra-base hits in Saturday’s 15-3 thumping of LaSalle, doubling home a run in the fifth inning and legging out a triple in the eighth. Godino ended the week with two hits and two RBI in an 8-4 triumph over Villanova. Wagner’s cleanup hitter opened the game’s scoring by ripping a RBI hit to left field in the first frame. He increased the Seahawks’ lead to 4-1 with a seventh-inning run-scoring single.
