WEEK 4 STATS: 5 starts, .421 BA (8-for-19), 3 HR, 2B, 9 RBI, 8 runs
Only days after being named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List, Wagner's catcher accounted for a trio of three-RBI showings. Capra, who recorded at least one hit in all five of Wagner's games last week, totaled eight runs and nine RBI. He homered thrice, including round-trippers in the opener and finale of the Seahawks' three-game road sweep of America East member Stony Brook. Capra, who batted .421 (8-for-19) with four extra-base hits, started his week with three hits and three RBI in a neutral site affair against ACC member Virginia Tech in Deland, FL. Capra opened the scoring in the series opener with a first-inning sac fly. He later bumped Wagner's lead to 5-1 by cranking a two-run homer to right-centerfield in the third frame of the eventual 14-6 triumph. Capra scored three runs in Game 2, a 7-2 win for Wagner. The veteran backstop went deep in the third inning of the series finale, sending a 3-1 pitch over the right field wall for a three-run bomb that gave the Seahawks a 5-0 lead.
