Panno recorded at least one hit in each of Bryant’s three games at SEC member Auburn and the junior third baseman was responsible for an impressive power surge in the series opener. Going up against Preseason All-American righty Casey Mize, Panno and the Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead on Friday. He pushed across the game’s first run, scoring Nick Angelini on a first-inning sacrifice fly. With Bryant holding a 2-0 edge in the top of the third frame, Panno doubled the lead by crushing a two-out, two-run home run to centerfield off Mize. Panno homered again in the seventh inning of the eventual 15-7 setback. Facing the Tigers’ bullpen, he belted a three-run bomb to right field. He finished the series opener having gone 2-for-3 with one walk, one sac fly, two runs scored and six RBI. Panno connected on a two-out single in the third inning of the series’ middle game and added an extra-base hit in the finale. Driving in Bryant’s lone run during a 3-1 setback, Panno doubled home Angelini to give the visitors a 1-0 lead in the fourth frame.
