Storck stepped up her scoring in a pair of crucial contests for the Pioneers. Spearheading a two-win week that allowed SHU to secure a NEC Tournament berth for the 19th consecutive season, the 5-foot-9 guard averaged 19.0 points per victory while shooting 50 percent from downtown. Storck was sensational on both ends of the floor during Saturday’s 66-60 triumph over St. Francis Brooklyn. Reaching the 20-point plateau for the first time since December 9 when she scored 29 against Providence, the Empire State product poured in a game-high 21 points to go along with three steals and a trio of blocked shots. Storck set the tone from the start, opening the game’s scoring by sinking a triple of SHU’s first possession and proceeding to score seven of Pioneers first 12 points as they jumped out to a 12-2 lead over the first 4:16. Two nights later, she out-scored every player in LIU’s lineup by netting 17 points in the Pioneers’ 63-43 win. Storck, who also logged three assists against the Blackbirds, did most of her damage from beyond the arc. All five of her field goals were three-pointers. She also hit two free throws to erase a 33-32 deficit and give Sacred Heart the lead for good with 5:21 left in the third quarter.
