Wilkerson’s Metropolitan Championships debut yielded a silver medal and a top time on the NEC leader board. Setting his seasonal best in the 400m dash, the first-year Blackbird flew to a second-place finish in 48.50 at the annual meet. Only Rutgers’ junior Izaiah Brown ran faster. That mark ranks in the top half on the list of IC4A Championships qualifiers. With the NEC Indoor Championships on the horizon, Wilkerson spearheads a heavy LIU Brooklyn presence on the 400m leader board. Blackbirds own the top-four spots as well as six of the eight-best times.
