Kovatch has been on a tear since the start of conference play and she has five consecutive NEC Player of the Week awards to show for it. The junior guard, who is averaging 29.4 points per game against league foes, poured in 53 points during 57 minutes of court time last week. Powering the Red Flash to back-to-back home wins, Kovatch shot 54.3 percent from the field and sank 12 three-pointers. She averaged 26.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per outing. The Garden State product shot 60 percent from the floor, including a 3-of-5 clip from three-point range, while tallying 17 points in an 87-59 win over Central Connecticut on Saturday. Only hours after being named a finalist for the Lieberman Award on Monday afternoon, Kovatch erupted for her seventh 30-plus point performance of the season. Victimizing Bryant for nine triples, the 5-foot-9 guard piled up 36 points in an 87-69 triumph. With the SFU facing a 16-14 deficit late in the opening quarter, Kovatch dialed long distance on two consecutive possessions and the Red Flash led the rest of the way.
