Kovatch propelled the Red Flash past defending NEC champion Robert Morris in what was her team’s lone game last week. The 5-foot-9 sharpshooter dialed long distance eight times en-route to her eighth 30-plus point performance of the season and set a NEC career record to boot. While piling up a game-high 32 points in 32 minutes against the Flash’s Keystone State rival, Kovatch became the conference’s all-time career leader for three-pointers made. Having surpassed former SFU sniper Alexa Hayward (300), Kovatch has made 302 attempts from downtown in fewer than three seasons. The Garden State product caught fire in the second half of the come-from-behind 68-47 win over the Colonials, who entered as the lone remaining conference unbeaten at 9-0. Allowing SFU to quickly turn a five-point halftime deficit into a 12-point advantage, Kovatch sank five triples and dished out an assist over the first 5:37 of the third quarter. She leads all NCAA Division I scorers with 24.5 points per game.
