Parker broke a LIU program record while establishing herself as a serious contender for the NEC shot put title. Contesting the 2018 Great Dane Classic, the second-year Blackbird took the lead on her first throw of the competition and never relinquished it. Extending her lead on her second attempt, she put the shot 14.40m (47’ 3”) to record the eventual winning throw and become LIU’s all-time leader in the event. Parker’s top mark stands second overall on the NEC performance list, only 24 centimeters shy of the conference leader. She sits in 13th place amongst ECAC Championships qualifiers.
