Making her 800m season debut, Thompson cruised to victory at the NYC Gotham Cup and simultaneously claimed first place on the NEC leader board in her signature event. The British-born half-miler, who has twice set the NEC Indoor Championships meet record, crossed the line in 2:13.38 to beat her next-closest competitor by nearly 3.0 seconds. The time automatically qualifies Thompson for the ECAC Championships in March. Amongst ECAC qualifiers, Thompson ranks 20th on the regional top times list.
