Mefford produced the best long jump performance of his young career on the way to a first-place finish at the Boston University Multi Team Meet. He took the lead on his first attempt of the competition and never relinquished it. On his third jump, Mefford bumped his winning mark up to 6.72m (22’ 0.75”). That mark ties the first-year Pioneer for fifth place on the NEC leader board.
