WEEK 3 STATS: 12 starts, 22.77 overall frame average, .919 filled frames pct., .598 strike pct.
Lukosius’ sensational weekend was the centerpiece for Fairleigh Dickinson’s second-place finish at the annual Jersey Jamboree. Leading all NEC players in attendance, the senior right-hander averaged 22.77 pins per frame and left only 10 opens over the course of the three-day tournament. Competing fewer than 60 miles away from where she starred in high school, the Garden State product struck 59.8 percent of the time while posting a .919 filled frames percentage. Helping the Knights to a 9-3 record, Lukosius started all 12 matches while accounting for a team-leading 2,824 total pinfall. Lukosius, who was the lone NEC athlete to average more than 21.0 pins per frame during both baker and traditional match play, was ultra-effective during FDU’s five traditional team games. Topping the entire field in average by more than 20 pins, Lukosius put forth five consecutive 200-plus games. After starting Saturday’s slate with a 209-pin performance in a win over Felician, Lukosius erupted for four straight games in excess of 230. She fired a 255 in a runaway win over Adelphi before unloading a weekend-high 276 to power the Knights past Howard. Her 243.60 traditional game average earned her the Tournament MVP award. Lukosius was a driving force behind FDU’s 5-2 record in baker bouts, too. The decorated veteran averaged 21.7 pins per baker frame.
