Ikematsu accounted for a scoring explosion during #NECTipoff Weekend. Obliterating her previous season-high scoring total, the rookie point guard exceeded the 20-point mark in back-to-back road wins. Ikematsu was deadly from downtown during the two-game conference road swing, connecting on 13 of 17 (.765) three-point field goal attempts. While accounting for a 6-of-7 clip from beyond the arc, the Japanese-born guard poured in 23 points to power Robert Morris past Fairleigh Dickinson in the NEC opener. Ikematsu also dished out four assists in the 77-68 victory over a FDU team that had amassed a league-best eight non-conference wins. Her 23 points represented the highest individual scoring total by a Colonial in a conference opener since Artemis Spanou tallied 25 on January 4, 2014. Two days later, Ikematsu celebrated New Year’s Eve by sinking seven triples en-route to a 25-point performance at Sacred Heart. She also accounted for six rebounds and three assists in the 91-57 triumph. Prior to tipping off the NEC schedule, Ikematsu’s single-game scoring high was 12 points in a win over Big West member Cal Poly.
