Brackett helped the Bulldogs contain one of the nation’s most-efficient passing attacks in the regular season finale. The freshman defensive back recorded four tackles, all of the solo variety, and successfully defended two passes in the 38-29 home win over second-place Duquesne. Brackett, who broke up a pass to Chavis Rawlins on a 2nd-and-6 play late in the first quarter, recorded an interception for the second week in a row to stop a potential Duquesne scoring drive midway through the second period. One snap after making a tackle on run defense, Brackett intercepted a first-down pass at Bryant’s own 13-yard line and returned it 12 yards to the 25. After Bryant scored its final touchdown, Brackett covered the ensuing kickoff and dropped the dangerous Nehari Crawford inside the Duquesne 20-yard line after an eight-yard return.
