Guthro was a disruptive force up front as Bryant faced the conference's top-ranked attack in terms of scoring and passing efficiency. The defensive lineman recorded 10 tackles, including 0.5 sack, and broke up three pass attempts. Guthro, who also blocked a field goal and was credited with quarterback hurry, was responsible for nine hits that prevented the offense from gaining more than three yards. The defensive end made three consecutive plays to force a three-and-out on Duquesne’s second possession of the game. Guthro stopped AJ Hines on a two-yard run and proceeded to bat down a pass on the following snap. On third down, he teamed with Kevin Lazo to sack the quarterback and force the punt team onto the field. After the Dukes moved into Bryant territory on a second-quarter drive, he logged another pass break-up on a first-down play. Guthro delivered on special teams with Duquesne looking to add to a 13-9 lead late in the first half, stuffing a 38-yard field goal attempt. In the second half, he limited Duquesne to one-yard gains on four different rushing attempts.
