Silvester closed out his freshman season of effective punting by pinning the Pioneers inside their own 20-yard line on four occasions during Wagner’s double-digit road triumph. The 5-foot-11 rookie, who finished third amongst NEC leaders in punting average (37.6), kicked it away eight times for 295 yards in the Week 12 win. Averaging 36.9 yards per punt, Silvester recorded a long of 49 and induced three fair catches. Only one of his eight punts was returned by Sacred Heart and, in that lone instance, the coverage team arrived in time to force a fumble after a modest seven-yard run-back. Silvester punted twice late in the first quarter. His first kick travelled 38 yards before being fair caught at the SHU 18-yard line. Only 2:21 later, he was called upon again and his 40-yard boot was downed at the Pioneers’ 7. The left-footed freshman again pinned SHU deep in its own territory midway through the second quarter when his 35-yard punt was fair caught at the 11. Silvester later booted one out of bounds at the opponent’s 19-yard line.
