STAT LINE: 15 receptions, 202 receiving yards, TD, 9 First Downs
Lewis’ monster performance helped Saint Francis to a 30-14 road win over NEC rival Bryant. Accounting for career-high marks, the junior receiver pulled in 15 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown. Lewis’ career day marked the first 200-yard receiving performance in a NEC game since 2012. After incompletions on his first two targets, Lewis made catches on three consecutive plays during a first-quarter drive into the red zone. In addition to an eight-yard touchdown catch that salted away the win late in the fourth quarter, the 6-foot-4 Californian made nine receptions for first downs. He produced his longest play of the day with SFU holding a 7-0 lead and facing a 3rd-and-5 situation late in the second quarter. Lewis, who made catches of 7 and 8 yards earlier on the drive, hauled in a pass for a 48-yard gain before being forced out of bounds at Bryant’s 5-yard line. Lewis, who has made at least three receptions during each of his last 18 appearances, surpassed the prior career-high yardage total (189) that he amassed in last year’s win over Central Connecticut. His 202 yards stand as the highest single-game total in NEC play since Bryant’s Jordan Harris went for 224 yards in a win over Albany on November 5, 2011.
