Goeke rebounded from his roughest outing of the season by firing a complete-game gem against second-place Central Connecticut. Going all nine innings during the Seahawks’ 5-2 series-opening triumph, the 6-foot-5 right-hander was charged with only one earned run and his effectiveness increased as the game wore on. Goeke, who pitched to an 0.67 WHIP, retired each of the last 11 batters he faced. Goeke registered three strikeouts and issued two walks. After a sacrifice fly cut Wagner’s lead to 4-2 with two outs in the fifth inning, Wagner’s senior starter surrendered only one harmless single the rest of the way. He did not allow an extra-base hit during the 131-pitch effort.
