Gasper was a near-impossible out during Bryant’s four-game series sweep of Mount St. Mary’s. For the week, which also included a 5-4, extra-inning win over CAA member Northeastern, the New Hampshire product hit .600 (9-for-15) with six walks, one HBP, four RBI and three runs scored. The veteran backstop reached base safely 15 times in 17 plate appearances (.882 OBP) as Bryant averaged 10.0 runs per victory against the Mount. Accounting for the second-longest streak in program history, Gasper did not record an out in any of his first 13 plate appearances of the NEC series. He started 8-for-8 at the plate, including a 5-for-5 performance in the opener. Although he was held hitless (0-for-2) in Game 4, he still worked out three walks. In Wednesday’s tilt with Northeastern, he connected on a game-tying, seventh-inning RBI single.
