Marsh lowered his league-leading earned-run average by spinning 8.0 shutout innings in a win over local rival LIU Brooklyn. Finishing as the pitcher of record for Wagner’s 12-0 win in the series finale, the senior right-hander scattered six hits (all singles) and one walk while bumping his record to 5-1. Marsh registered a season-high 11 strikeouts during the 115-pitch outing and fanned at least one batter in every inning. After LIU’s Chris Misiano singled to lead off the game, Marsh retired the next 10 Blackbirds he faced. The 6-foot senior did not allow a runner to advance past second base until there were two outs in the eighth inning and he quickly extinguished the threat with an inning-ending strikeout. He leads all NEC pitchers with a 1.10 ERA.
