WEEK 9 STATS: 1 start, 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 6.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 5 H, 3 K, 3 BB
Pitching to a 0.00 ERA, Goeke twirled 6.0 innings as the pitcher of record in Wagner’s 4-1 victory over Atlantic 10 member Saint Bonaventure. He scattered five hits, only one of which went for extra bases, while striking out three and walking three. Aided by a throwing error and a wild pitch, Saint Bonaventure plated its only run of the game in the second inning. With no outs and a runner on third, Goeke registered a strikeout followed by a sacrifice fly to centerfield and an inning-ending flyout to right. He allowed a one-out triple in the third frame, but stranded the runner by inducing back-to-back pop outs. After a three-run home run gave Goeke a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth, the 6-foot-5 righty worked around an infield single to complete a scoreless sixth. He threw a total of 84 pitches en-route to winning his third consecutive start.
