Wing spearheaded St. Francis Brooklyn’s first-place showing at the Virginia Union Invitational. The senior right-hander averaged a team-high 20.44 pins per frame over the course of the three-day tournament. Leading the Terriers to 13 wins in 14 matches against NCAA competition, she struck on nearly half of her chances (.497) and filled 86.4 percent of frames. Wing eclipsed the 200-pin mark during three of six traditional team matches, including the clean 226 game she rolled in a win over Chowan. The Empire State product, who posted a solid 191.5 traditional game average, performed exceptionally well during baker competition. Wing’s 21.42 frame average was a key reason why St. Francis won all eight of its baker matches at VUU. The fourth-year Terrier bowled the fourth and ninth frames of the team’s program-record 297 near-perfect baker game on Friday in a win over Felician. She was just as sharp during Sunday’s best-of-seven championship baker bouts. Occupying the fourth spot in the SFBK lineup, Wing went 8-for-8 on strike attempts during a 4-to-0 triumph over Mount Aloysius in  the semifinal match.
