Branch, now a four-time NEC Rookie of the Week, was one of only three Knights to start all 13 matches during Vanderbilt’s Music City Classic. The rookie right-hander averaged 19.10 pins per frame to lead all NEC freshmen who competed at the 35-team event. Helping FDU to a sixth-place finish, Branch filled frames at an 84.8 percent clip and struck 60 times in 142 attempts (.423). She converted 85.5 percent of non-split spare attempts. The Empire State product was at her best during the baker play portions of the three-day meet, contributing to FDU’s 4-1 showing, which was highlighted by a win over No. 3 Arkansas State, on Friday. During Saturday’s traditional rounds, Branch accounted for a 183.6 game average as the Knights won three of five matches. Branch hit the 205-pin mark twice Saturday, doing so against No. 5 Vanderbilt and Lincoln.
