Stones opened the outdoor season the same way she capped the indoor campaign - by setting a personal record. The senior shot putter topped the field at the 22nd annual Monmouth University Season Opener by more than 1.0 meter. Stones, who set a program record indoors while earning a silver medal at the ECAC Championships, put the shot 14.72m (48’ 3.5”) to strike gold at Monmouth and move into first place on the NEC leader board. Nationally, Stones’ season-opening performance sits 51st overall. She ranks 28th amongst NCAA Division I East Region leaders.
