Delease was dealing during his first career NEC start. The rookie right-hander fired 5.0 scoreless innings to earn the victory during CCSU’s 3-0 shutout of LIU Brooklyn on Sunday. Limiting the opposition to three hits and two walks, Delease did not allow a Blackbird to advance past second base. After keeping the Blackbirds hitless for the first 3.0 frames, the first-year Blue Devil surrendered a pair of fourth-inning singles that proved harmless. He allowed two baserunners in the fifth, but used a strikeout and a groundball double play to escape unscathed. Delease, who fanned four batters, threw 51 of his 79 pitches for strikes.
