Karinchak put efficiency and dominance on display during the first half of Saturday’s doubleheader at Wagner. Throwing 60 of his 90 pitches for strikes, the veteran right-hander went the distance to earn a 1-0 road win. He allowed only one hit, a third-inning single, over 7.0 scoreless frames. Facing only two batters over the minimum, Karinchak registered 11 strikeouts and issued only one base on balls. After Wagner’s James Wise led off the third inning by singling to left-centerfield, Bryant’s All-American ace retired the next 13 Seahawks he faced. Karinchak worked around a hit-by-pitch to strike out the side in the seventh inning, closing out the one-hitter. Seemingly gaining strength as the game wore on, the Empire State product recorded seven of the final nine outs via strikeout.
