Thorne retained her NEC Rookie of the Week title after lowering her league-leading 1500m time. Contesting the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, the first-year Pioneer crossed the line in 4:35.40. Trimming more than 1.0 second off the time that earned her a gold medal at the Monmouth Season Opener, Thorne crept closer to the qualifying standard for the ECAC Championships while maintaining more than a 4.5-second lead over Bryant’s Melissa Lodge on the NEC circuit.
