Yanucil inched closer to regaining the All-America form she achieved last spring. Competing for the second time this season, the fourth-year Mountaineer struck gold in the javelin at High Point’s VertKlasse Meet. Adding more than 2.00 meters to the mark that earned her a bronze medal at the Webb & Davidson Spring Kick-off, Yanucil sent the implement 48.13m (157’ 11”) on what was her final throw of the competition. She exceeded her season-opening mark on four of six attempts this past weekend. With her latest performance, Yanucil has cracked the NCAA Division I Top 30 and ranks 13th overall amongst East Region leaders.
