Kimble claims the rookie honor that his Mount classmate Matthew Selba held last week. The freshman sprinter accounted for a 100-200 double that landed him amongst the NEC’s Top 6 in each event. Contesting High Point’s VertKlasse Meet, Kimble ran the 200m dash in 21.80 to finish sixth overall in a 105-entrant field. The time, which ranks fifth on the NEC leader board, is 0.40 second under the qualifying standard for the IC4A Championships in May. At the 100m distance, Kimble clocked in at 11.05 to win his heat and move into sixth place amongst NEC leaders. He came up 0.05 second shy of a second IC4A automatic qualifier.
