Marsh played the role of stopper on Saturday, twirling a complete-game shutout to prevent a series sweep at the hands of a NEC rival. After his team suffered setbacks on both ends of Friday’s doubleheader, Marsh limited Fairleigh Dickinson to five hits (all singles) over 9.0 scoreless frames in a 3-0 victory. The senior right-hander fanned nine Knights and walked three during the 118-pitch outing. He retired 10 of the first 11 batters he faced, including four via strikeout. Working with a 3-0 lead, Marsh ran into some minor trouble during the sixth inning when a double steal put runners on second and third with two outs. FDU catcher Evan McDonald ran the count full, but Marsh hung tough and registered an inning-ending strikeout. The veteran hurler proceeded to hold FDU hitless over the final 2.2 innings.
