Dickson was a driving force behind the Blackbirds’ noteworthy wins over No. 23 Brigham Young and Big Ten member Purdue at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The sophomore infielder batted .400 (4-for-10) with a home run, a double, two walks, seven RBI and three runs scored. Dickson went 1-for-2 with one walk, three RBI and two runs scored in LIU’s first game of the tournament, a 10-5 triumph over BYU. She drove in three runs over the first three innings against BYU, helping the Blackbirds build a 5-2 lead. Dickson delivered a first-inning sacrifice fly that bumped LIU’s advantage to 2-0. Coming to the plate again in the third inning, she blasted the first pitch for a two-run homer that expanded the LIU lead to 5-2. Dickson collected three hits and four RBI in Sunday’s runaway win over Purdue. Her two-run double opened the game’s scoring, setting the stage for LIU’s six-run first. In four appearances over the weekend, Dickson accounted for a .420 on-base percentage and an .800 slugging percentage.
